Joel Geolamen is an award winning Davaoeno artist. He studied drawing and painting under Rachel Holazo and Ben Banez at the Ford Academy of the Arts in Davao City. He has exhibited in several group shows in Davao City, Baguio City and Manila. In 2000, he was a finalist of the prestigious 17th Young Painters Annual Competition of the MetroBank Foundation.

Geolamen is from Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte. He discovered a new visual strategy: "etchings on photographs" more than fifteen years ago and quietly, he methodically and studiously perfected this craft. He describes his works metamorphic.
